Post-Quarantine Weight Loss Tips – How to Get Your Pre-Quarantine Body Back

Like most people in the world, COVID-19 probably wrecked your ability to stay healthy and active. Nearly all office goers transitioned to work from home lifestyles with lockdowns and social distancing at the forefront, which also meant daily gym and diet routines went down the drain. And that meant weight gain. Many of us have packed on the pounds during quarantine, but it’s now time to look towards the future and plan our post-quarantine weight loss regime. Here are some tips to help you get your pre-quarantine body back.

Start Exercising Regularly

Exercise is such an important part of any weight loss program because it helps the body get fit, burns calories, and improves muscle tone. If your local gym is still in lockdown, start by running or walking in your neighborhood. You can do any kind of exercise you enjoy —  whether it is playing a sport or finding a dance class — or you can look into a healthy weight loss program.

Add More Fiber to Your Diet

Adding more fiber to your diet can help with weight loss because it is known to keep you full longer, which means you won’t want to eat as much. Fiber is also good for improving gut health and lowering the risk of diseases. This simply means adding more vegetables and fruits into your daily diet, including lentils, beans, oats, quinoa, bananas, apples, oranges, and strawberries.

Control Your Portions

Tempting as it is to eat more while you are stuck at home, try your best to control your portions during every meal. Portion control allows you to keep your calorie consumption in check, so you only eat what your body needs instead of overindulging. It will help you achieve your weight loss goals much faster because you won’t have to work twice as hard to burn the extra calories.

Hydrate Often

Not drinking enough water can lead to low energy and overeating, which is exactly what you want to avoid, so start hydrating more. Water can help to keep your appetite in check, make it easier to exercise, and even improve your metabolism — all necessary to help with weight loss. Keep a bottle with you, and remember to take sips as often as possible.
